Welcome to Wisdom Isle — an isle about the simple wisdoms of life!
Many of us carry within ourselves the baggage of the past, and we worry about the future. Our minds are bound in the illusion of time. We are so occupied with our thoughts, materialistic endeavours, and desires that we become lost in this beautiful world and lose sight of who we are. The posts here are about the timeless wisdom of finding ourselves — our true nature — which is beyond our physical form and certainly beyond the limits of what our minds can comprehend. This is an isle for discovering and experiencing a life of simplicity, joy, harmony, and peace.
This site and its content are not aligned with any particular teaching. Although it comes in many forms, every spiritual teaching points to the same way. Indeed, if we look clearly, we will realise that essentially and eternally there is only one spiritual teaching. “Everything is one” is the essence of that teaching. We need but a very simple mind to realise this truth; a mind that knows no-thing rather than many things. In life, abide to the simplest pattern: unlearn rather than learn, subtract rather than add.
I am not a teacher. At best I am your friend – an ordinary man. I do not have any more wisdom (spiritual truth) than you do. All I can do is show you the path, but you have to walk it and experience it for yourself. The path of wisdom does not have any of the typical religious elements such as rituals, principles, ideology, etc. Neither are there any secrets, rules, or discipline. This path or journey does not rely on someone or something; it is a path that is free of the mind and as free as the wind. Philo of Alexandria (c. 20 BCE – C. 50 CE) summed it up beautifully, “If someone has experienced the wisdom that can only be heard from oneself, learned from oneself, and created from oneself, he does not merely participate in laughter: he becomes laughter itself.”
Read with an open mind – there is no need to agree or disagree. Each time you read these posts, you may find a new or a deeper meaning. Read and let them sink in. Don’t strive to attain or achieve something, and don’t try to get ahead of yourself. Don’t try to climb high or dive deep. We are all always on the same level, no matter who or what we are. Simply allow things to take their own course and be open to everything that comes your way.
You could say the words you read here are not “by” me, but they come “through” me. They have originated from what I have assimilated and experienced as life has guided me, and which deep within I know and feel to be true.
This extraordinary journey into yourself begins here. Just allow the wisdom to do its magic.
